1. Who we are
SocketFlare (“we”, “us”) provides a realtime messaging platform. This policy explains what information we collect when you use our website, dashboard, and API.
2. What we collect
- Account information — your email address, display name, and avatar URL when you sign up via Google or email.
- App metadata — the names of apps you create, keys, secrets, and creation timestamps.
- Usage metrics — aggregated counts of API calls and connection events for billing and rate limiting.
- Request metadata — IP address, user agent, and timestamps of dashboard requests. Kept briefly for abuse prevention.
We do not store the contents of the messages you publish through SocketFlare. Messages are relayed in-memory and never written to disk.
3. How we use it
We use your information to operate the service, authenticate you, measure usage against your plan, prevent abuse, and respond to support requests. We don't sell your data. We don't run ads.
4. Sharing
We share data only with sub-processors strictly necessary to run SocketFlare: our payment processor for handling subscriptions, our infrastructure provider for hosting, and our email provider for transactional email. We do not share your data with anyone else.
5. Cookies
We set a single signed session cookie after you log in. It contains your user ID and an expiration timestamp. We don't use tracking cookies or third-party analytics on the dashboard.
6. Retention and deletion
Account data is kept while your account is active. Usage counters are retained for up to 13 months to support historical billing. You can delete your account from the dashboard Settings page at any time.
7. Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, export, and delete your data. Email us at privacy@socketflare.com and we'll respond within 30 days.
8. Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your data, we'll update this page and notify active users by email before the changes take effect.
