Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By creating a SocketFlare account or using our service, you agree to these Terms. If you're using SocketFlare on behalf of a company, you represent that you have authority to bind it.

2. The service

SocketFlare is a realtime messaging API. You send us events via our HTTP API; we deliver them to connected clients over WebSocket. We charge based on the number of events you publish, not the number of deliveries.

3. Your account

You're responsible for keeping your app secrets secure. Anyone with your app secret can publish on your behalf. If you suspect a secret has been leaked, rotate it immediately from the dashboard.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to use SocketFlare to:

• Send messages that are illegal, harassing, or infringe others' rights.
• Attempt to break, probe, or overload the service outside of agreed rate limits.
• Resell or sublicense the service without our written permission.
• Use the service for real-time decision making in safety-critical systems.

5. Plans and billing

Paid plans are billed monthly in advance. Usage that exceeds your plan limits is either blocked or billed at the overage rate shown on the pricing page, depending on your settings. All prices are in USD and exclude applicable taxes.

6. Cancellation

You can cancel any time. Your plan stays active until the end of the current billing period. We don't prorate partial months.

7. Service level

We target 99.9% monthly uptime and publish status on our status page. We do our best, but the service is provided as-is without warranties of any kind except where required by law.

8. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months preceding the claim. We're not liable for indirect or consequential damages.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. We'll try to give you notice and a chance to cure, except in cases of abuse, fraud, or legal compulsion.

10. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced by email at least 14 days before they take effect.
